Verification

You can manage two-step verification settings in your Carrots account. You have the option to enable or disable this feature, change the PIN or update the email address associated with two-step verification.

Enable two-step verification

  1. Open Carrots Profile.
  2. Tap Two-step verification > Enable.
  3. Enter a six-digit PIN of your choice and confirm it.
  4. Provide an email address you can access or tap Skip if you don’t want to add an email address. We recommend adding an email address as this allows you to reset two-step verification, and helps safeguard your account.
  5. Tap Next.
  6. Confirm the email address and tap Save or Done.

If you don’t add an email address and you forget your PIN, you’ll have to contact customer support before you can reset your PIN. Since we don’t verify this email address to confirm its accuracy, make sure you provide an accurate email address you can access.

Disable two-step verification:

  1. Open Carrots Profile
  2. Tap Account > Two-step verification > Disable > Disable.

Change your two-step verification PIN

  1. Open Carrots Profile
  2. Tap Two-step verification > Change PIN.

Add an email address

  1. Open Carrots Profile.
  2. Tap Two-step verification > Add Email Address.

Change an email address

  1. Open Carrots Profile.

Tap Two-step verification > Change Email Address.

There are several options to reset your two-step verification PIN.

Reset PIN with an email address

If you provided an email address when you set up two-step verification, you can reset the PIN immediately by requesting a reset link.

To reset the PIN:

  1. Open Carrots > tap Forgot PIN? > Send Email. A reset link will be sent to the email address you provided.
  2. In the email, follow the reset link and tap CONFIRM.
  3. Open Carrots > tap Forgot PIN? > Reset.

Keep in mind, deleting or reinstalling Carrots won’t disable or reset the PIN for two-step verification.

Reset PIN without an email address

You’ll need to contact customer support to reset the PIN if:

  • You didn’t provide an email address to reset the PIN.
  • You forgot the email address to reset the PIN.

After the 7-day period, open Carrots > tap Forgot PIN? > Reset.

Note: For security purposes, there isn’t an option for us to speed up the 7-day timeframe or disable your account after two-step verification is enabled. The two-step verification PIN is different from the 6-digit registration code you receive via SMS or phone call.

Two-step verification is an optional feature that adds more security to your Carrots account. You’ll see the two-step verification screen after you successfully register your email on Carrots. You can learn how to enable two-step verification in the article (insert link to previous article).

When you enable two-step verification, you have the option to enter your email address. This allows Carrots to email you a reset link in case you ever forget your PIN, and also helps safeguard your account.

To help you remember your PIN, Carrots will prompt you to periodically enter your PIN. Unfortunately, there isn’t an option to disable this without disabling the two-step verification feature.

Note: The two-step verification PIN is different from the 6-digit registration code you receive via email. You can learn more about registration in this article.

When you create a Carrots account, you’ll see two different screens:

  • Registration: This screen appears when you’re creating a new account. To confirm that you own the email, you’ll be prompted to enter a 6-digit registration code sent to you via email. Verifying your email with a registration code is the only way you can activate your account, and you must be able to receive the code on your email.
  • Two-step verification: This screen appears after you successfully register your email on Carrots. Two-step verification is an optional feature that adds more security to your Carrots account. When enabling this feature, you create and confirm a unique PIN that’s required to access your account. The two-step verification PIN is different from the 6-digit registration code you receive via email. You can learn more about two-step verification in this article (insert next article link).

If you forgot your PIN and you’ve successfully registered your email on Carrots, tap Forgot PIN?> Disable to access your account.

Account and Profile

You can either move to the same type of phone, such as Android to Android, or move to a different type of phone, such as iPhone to Android.

Note: If you give away or return your old phone to your mobile provider, make sure to wipe it of all your data beforehand, including the SD card if applicable. This ensures none of your private data will fall into someone else’s hands.

To maintain security, limit data retention, and protect the privacy of our users, Carrots accounts may be deleted after 120 days of inactivity. Inactivity means the user hasn’t connected to Carrots.

An internet connection is required for an account to be active. If a user has Carrots open on their device, but they don’t have an internet connection, then the account will be inactive.

Content stored locally on a user’s device prior to account deletion will remain until Carrots is deleted from the device. When a user reregisters for Carrots on the same device, their locally stored content will reappear.

About stolen accounts

You should never share your Carrots verification code with others, not even friends or family. If you’re tricked into sharing your code and lose access to your Carrots account, read the instructions below to recover your account.

If you suspect someone else is using your Carrots account, you should notify family and friends as this individual could impersonate you in chats.

Want to protect your Carrots account from scams? It’s easy, just follow these steps.

  1. Never share the 6 digit code you received via email with others.
  2. Enable two-step verification.
    1. Tap Profile > Two-step verification > create a PIN. That’s it!

How to recover your account

Sign into Carrots with your email and verify your email by entering the 6-digit code you receive via email. You might also be asked to provide a two-step verification code. All users will be signed out of Carrots on all devices. You will be asked to reset your password and sign-in again.

The request account information feature allows you to submit a request for and export a report of your WhatsApp account information and settings. The report won’t include your messages. If you want to access your messages other than in the app, you can export your chat history instead.

Request report

  1. Go to Carrots Profile > Personal Information > Request account info.
  2. Tap Request report. The screen will update to state Request sent.

Your report will typically be available three days after the date you requested it. You can refer to the Ready by date while waiting for your report.

Note:

  • Once you request a report, you can’t undo or cancel your pending request.
  • If you change your phone number or delete your account, your pending request will be voided and you’ll have to request another report.

Download and export report

When the report is available to download, you’ll receive a Carrots notification on your phone, stating “Your account info report is now available”. The Request account info screen in Carrots will tell you the amount of time you have to download the report before it’s deleted from our servers. Because this report contains your information, you should be careful about storing, sending, or uploading it to any other services.

  1. Go to Carrots Profile > Personal Information > Request account info.
  2. Tap Download report. A ZIP file will be downloaded to your phone, which includes HTML and JSON files.
  3. Once the file is downloaded, tap Export report > EXPORT or Export Report. You’ll be unable to view the downloaded report within Carrots.
  4. In the share tray that appears, tap the external app you want to export your report to. For example, you can email a copy of the report to yourself.

After you download the report to your phone, you’ll have the option to permanently delete the downloaded copy from your phone by tapping Delete report > DELETE or Delete Report on the Request account infoscreen. Deleting the report won’t delete any of your Carrots account data.

Purchasing on Carrots

The Carrots app provides functionality to have products ordered and delivered automatically on a set schedule. Carrots hosts farms of all sizes and capabilities, as such the availability of the supply of any particular product can vary greatly. Recurring deliveries will need to be requested and confirmed by farmers prior to automatic deliveries commencing. Further, some products may not offer recurring deliveries for the entire year, or at all.

Requesting a recurring delivery from the basket

To facilitate a convenient recurring delivery request from multiple farmers, you can add all the products which you desire to be auto delivered to your basket and tap on the “Request recurring delivery” button found at Basket > Request recurring delivery. You will be prompted to select which products you would like to add to the request and presented with available dates for delivery.

Note: It is possible that not all products will be available for delivery on the same day. In this case, your order will be delivered on separate days as per the farmer’s or Carrots’ availability to deliver.

Requesting a recurring delivery from purchase history

You can also select a previous order from the purchase history screen. Tap Profile > Purchase history and tap on the order you desire to have scheduled for recurring delivery. Selling on Carrots

You can manage your schedule by tapping Calendar. The calendar screen allows a birds eye view of your upcoming orders in a calendar format. Below the main calendar, you can see a list of upcoming orders. You can click on the individual orders to get more information.

Scheduled order fulfilment

It’s important to stay on top of your order schedule to ensure you continue to receive positive reviews. There will be three types of fulfilment depending on your settings. Orders may be fulfilled via:

  1. Pick up.
  2. Farmer delivery.
  3. Carrots delivery.

You can learn more about these fulfilment methods here.

Delivery by Carrots requires the products to be dropped off at the Carrots drop off locations. Shoppers don’t need to worry about this step as this is an interaction point for Carrots and Farmers.

Dropping orders off at a Carrots drop off point

You can find your closest Carrots drop off point in your application. From the farmers side of the Carrots application, tap on Farm > “Carrots drop off” button at the top of screen to get a list of your nearest locations and navigation instructions.

There are three delivery methods available to Carrots shoppers, delivery by Farmers, delivery by Carrots or local pickup. If you are close to the farmer they may offer an option to deliver your order directly to your door. If you live within a Carrots delivery zone you can have your produce delivered to your door through Carrots delivery. If neither of these options are available for you, you can opt to pick your order up directly from the farmer. Your available options will be displayed during checkout.

Carrots delivery zones

Carrots delivery zones are a radius around the Carrots “Drop off points” that are within range for our drivers to deliver your order. Our drivers deliver orders on a set schedule and when you place an order with a farmer, it will be delivered on the next scheduled delivery day.  If this option is available on your order, it will be displayed during checkout.

Farmer delivery zones

Farmers have the option to deliver local orders within a specified range around their farm. This is ideal for communities outside the range of the Carrots delivery zones. If this option is available on your order, it will be displayed during checkout.

Pickup

You may also opt to pick the order up yourself at the Farmer’s pick up location. If this is an option it will be displayed during checkout.

Note: Not all Farmers offer pickup and those that do may have a specific schedule when pickup is available. Be sure to check this prior to selecting pickup as your delivery method.

To initiate the product listing creation process tap on Profile > Create a product listing and provide the requested information. You will need to verify your identity prior to completing your product listing. The identity verification is a one-time process and you won’t need to repeat it once you’re verified. Identity verification provides peace of mind for consumers and ensures the safety of the marketplace.

Initiate a product listing

To initiate the process to become a Farmer tap on Profile > Create a product listing > Create a new product, alternatively you can select to duplicate a previous product you’ve made so you don’t have to enter all your information again. Follow the prompts through to the end and complete your identity verification, that’s it! The identity verification is a one-time process and you won’t need to repeat it once you’re verified. You will need to have the following information for each of the steps shown to complete your listing:

  1. Availability/season and type for your product.
    1. Is your product available year round? Is it seasonal? You’ll put that information here.
    2. What type of product are you selling? Is it a vegetable, fruit, meat etc.?
  2. Product location.
    1. If you’re offering pickup to consumers then you’ll want to add the pickup location/s here. You can add more than one location and pickup time for each product. This is useful if you will be available at different locations throughout the week.
  3. Farming practices
    1. This is where you get to make your product shine! Select any of the quality indicators that make your product special. Details on each indicator is provided here.
    2. Note: Certified organic and Net-zero emission quality indicators will require additional verification prior to being displayed on your listing.
  4. Photos of your product, make them as pretty as possible!
    1. Here are some tips on how to take good photos of fruits and vegetables, as well as tips on how to take good photos of meat.
  5. Give your product a name and description
    1. You can get creative here, instead of “Apples” you might name them something like “Jane’s Honey Crisp Apples”
    2. Add a mouthwatering product description.
  6. Delivery and pickup options
    1. Do you deliver locally around your farm? Can customers come to your farm or farmer’s stand and pick up their orders? Add those details here.
  7. Product price and quantity
    1. How do you charge for your product? Is it per unit or by weight?
    2. Do you have a limited supply each harvest? Or can you produce continuously year round?
  8. Verify identity
    1. That’s it! Now you’re ready to verify your identity and start selling. The identity verification process usually takes less than 24 hours, but can take as long as 7 days depending on the volume of applicants.

All products listed for sale on the Carrots application are produced by local farms. Any user can become a Farmer by listing products for sale on the marketplace. Becoming a Farmer is easy and happens automatically simply by listing a product for sale. Users must complete the identity verification process prior to completing a product listing.

You can better secure your Carrots account by following these tips:

  • Never share your registration code or two-step verification PIN with others.
  • Enable two-step verification and provide an email address in case you forget your PIN.
  • Set a device code.
  • Be aware of who has physical access to your phone. If someone has physical access to your phone, they can use your Carrots account without your permission.

We recommend you share this advice with friends and family to help secure their Carrots accounts.Note: If you receive an email to reset the two-step verification PIN or registration code but didn’t request this, don’t click on the link. Someone could be attempting to access your account on Carrots.

If you live in a country in the European Economic Area (which includes the European Union), and any other included country or territory (collectively referred to as the European Region), you must be at least 16 years old (or such greater age required in your country) to register for and use Carrots.

If you live in any other country except those in the European Region, you must be at least 13 years old (or such greater age required in your country) to register for and use Carrots.

Please refer to our Terms of Service for more information.

Note:

  • Creating an account with false information is a violation of our Terms.
  • Registering an account on behalf of someone who is underage is also a violation of our Terms.

Reporting an underage child

If you’d like to report an account belonging to someone underage, please send us an email. In your email, please provide the following documentation and redact or hide any unrelated personal information:

  • Proof of parental authority (e.g., copy of birth or adoption certificate for the underage child)
  • Proof of child’s date of birth (e.g., copy of birth or adoption certificate for the underage child)

We’ll promptly disable the Carrots account if it’s reasonably verifiable that the account belongs to your underage child. You won’t receive confirmation of this action. Our ability to review and take appropriate action on a report significantly improves with the completeness of the information requested above.

If the reported child’s account isn’t reasonably verifiable as belonging to an underage user, then we may not be able to take action on the account. In this case, if you’re not the parent of this child, then we strongly recommend that you encourage a parent to contact us using the instructions above.
